About WRSEF

The Worcester Regional Science & Engineering Fair (WRSEF) is a registered nonprofit 501(c)(3) charitable organization founded in 1956 and continuing to the present day. WRSEF is affiliated with the Massachusetts State Science & Engineering Fair, Inc. (MSSEF) and the International Science & Engineering Fair (ISEF). The region encompasses the schools in the central Massachusetts area.

The WRSEF mission is to encourage the development of student inquiry-based science process skills by supporting the education community, by providing a forum where students can dialogue with professionals and by honoring science achievement.

The WRSEF supports both middle (grades 6-8) and high school (grades 9-12) divisions at separate annual events held a Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI). Approximately 40 projects from each division qualify to enter the MSEF. The top five highest scoring projects in the high school fair are invited to participate in the Regeneron International Science & Engineering Fair (ISEF).
